I tumbled through the void again, pain coursing through my body.
I saw corridors and hallways again.
I felt something behind me as I stood in an intersection.
Instinct took over, despite the pain in my body.
It felt like I was running very slowly, hearing sounds from behind me in the enveloping dark.
I shunted the pain away, something deep inside took control.
My brain made me swerve past obstacles or over them.
I felt fingers back there, eyes, thousands of sickly green orbs.
I lost myself in the action, the movement of limbs and feet, this wave of euphoria swallowing my sight.
I was aware of a room briefly and a door slamming behind me, and darkness.
The dark of a world as yet undiscovered by star or sun or moon.
I laid on the cold, welcome ground.
My eyes closed.
My body told me I was not alone in that place, but consciousness left me behind.
